"Felcher?  From Cranston???"

We played the other night at JR's Bourbon St. Rockhouse which is part of the Mardi Gras Multi Club in Cranston, RI.  Thanks to everyone who came and for the patience to wait to hear us play.  After a particularly long delay, we took the stage.  Breadmaster all but lost a finger playing.  He left nothing out there except maybe some blister blood.  Rastiss got fucking electrocuted!  And all of his gear seemed to break on him.  The drums sounded good (sound-wise maybe not-so-much-playing-wise, haha) thanks to the 'house engineer.'  We didn't have to bring the bulky PA which the breadmaster carried down the many stairs at Jerky's back in January (I'm still impressed).  With the sleep deprivation and lack of practice before hand it was just as we thought it would be, a not so glorious mess.  But the F*@# the DMV went great.

I think we might be playing at Mardi Gras again in the beginning of October.  Details forthcoming.  There are >4 interconnected clubs there: a band bar, a karaoke bar, a monkey bar (don't ask), and a country line dancing bar, maybe before the next show a one building pub crawl would be in order.  There's an additional outside bar there.  Sound cancellation between bars/clubs was better than I thought it would be, considering the relative volumes of each sound system.  All in all it was good to play out again!

Until next time,

Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo,

We played battle of the bands a few weeks ago.  Thanks for all who got down and dirty.  Anybody stay later than Rastiss?  Special thanks to a helpful sound guy manning the boards, the electronic drums sounded decent.  At least I thought.  We brought a bunch of equipment this time, but it was heavy.  I’m such a pussy.  Breadmaster carried an insane amount of shit down the stairs afterwards, and I was all like, “What you’re still holding that? That’s heavy man.” We are also indebted to Bryan and Murph for carrying all that stuff!!!!  $2 PBRs can’t go wrong.  Oh wait, $8 cover kind of negates that though.  How was the pizza?

Anyways, coming in at just under a year between posts is considered bad behavior.  Shame on us.  And what’s crazy is that ALOT has gone down since last march.   What, specifically?  Well, if you want to know, just ask.  Otherwise you probably know already.  I don’t even remember much of the spring, and maybe only half the summer.  Then you get into the fall and that seems like yesteryear.

In the meantime, tell us about your year.  We’ll write a song about it.  “Like ta hea’it? hea’it goes!”

The other week we played a party with our buds Almost Blind.  It was a going away party for Tom in an artist space in Providence.  We don’t really know Tom but he seemed like a cool shit.  The gig went pretty sweet and fun was had by all.  There was a pretty damn good DJ playing tons of great Reggae I don’t remember his name but if you know it let us know so we can put it up.

“What has RAPSKALION been up to?” You might ask. Lets see:

Well with the New Year we have a new split CD with our friends Almost Blind called Consumption Junction. It’s got 4 songs from each band.

We are opening our recording studio, also called Consumption Junction, to the public.  If you interested, check out the link on the main page or the Links Page.

And finally we have a new web site layout.  I got real bored while laid up with a broken face.

That’s about it.  We are hoping to play out more this year as well as record a new full-length album.  We have about 20 songs we want to record.  We will keep you posted.
